Bret Abshire, MD FAANS

dr abshire tv neurosurgeryDr. Bret Abshire is a board-certified neurosurgeon with a distinguished background in complex spinal surgery. Raised in Fallbrook and a Temecula resident since 2000, he completed his neurosurgical residency at the renowned Cleveland Clinic, followed by a fellowship in complex spinal surgery in Tampa, Florida.

His clinical expertise includes revision spinal surgery, minimally invasive techniques, and scoliosis correction. Dr. Abshire earned his undergraduate degree from UC San Diego and went on to receive both a Master of Science and a Doctor of Medicine from Chicago Medical School.

He is board-certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgeons and is an active member of the AOA Honor Medical Society, Congress of Neurological Surgeons, North American Spine Society, and the American Association of Neurological Surgeons. He also serves on the Scientific Advisory Board for ATEC Spine, contributing to innovation in spinal care.

Outside the operating room, Dr. Abshire enjoys Formula 1 racing, race car driving, golf, skiing, and spending quality time with his family.

Daniel Friedlich, MD FAANS

Daniel Friedlich, MD FAANSDr. Daniel Friedlich brings a deep commitment to excellence in neurosurgery, with specialized expertise in complex spine surgery, minimally invasive techniques, and brain tumor management. A Los Angeles native, he returned to California in 2007 after completing his neurosurgical training at Albany Medical Center in New York.

Dr. Friedlich graduated with honors from Dartmouth College and earned his medical degree and neurosurgical residency credentials from Albany Medical College. During his training, he was selected as a Howard Hughes Medical Institute Research Scholar and completed a Neurogenetics Fellowship supported by the National Institutes of Health.

He is board-certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgeons and is a member of the AOA Honor Medical Society, American Association of Neurological Surgeons, and Congress of Neurological Surgeons. He also serves on the Scientific Advisory Committee for the Sam Schmidt Paralysis Foundation, supporting research and advocacy for spinal cord injury.

In his personal time, Dr. Friedlich enjoys composing music and playing the piano.

Gerald Oh, MD FAANS

Gerald Oh, MD FAANSDr. Gerald Oh is originally from Los Angeles and moved to Temecula following his neurosurgical training at the University of Illinois, Chicago in 2017. His clinical expertise includes brain tumor surgery, stereotactic radiosurgery, complex spine surgery, and minimally invasive techniques.

He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of California, Los Angeles in 2000, then went on to complete a Master of Science in Medical Imaging Science and Medical Radiation Physics at Chicago Medical School in 2002 and 2003. Before entering medical school, Dr. Oh worked for three years as a medical physicist in the Department of Radiation Oncology at John H. Stroger Hospital of Cook County.

Dr. Oh is board-certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgery and is an active member of both the Congress of Neurological Surgeons and the American Association of Neurological Surgeons.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Oh enjoys skiing—a passion he developed as a competitive alpine racer in his youth—as well as golfing and spending time with his family and friends.

Tracey Anderson, NP

Tracey Anderson, NPTracey received a Bachelor of Science degree in Social Work from Northern Illinois University and later obtained her nursing degree from Elgin Community College. She received her Masters of Science Degree from Depaul University in 2001 and completed her post-masters program in Acute Care in 2009 at St. Louis University. A featured speaker and author on a number of neurosurgical topics, Tracey has published and presented nationally and internationally.

Tracey is certified by the American Board of Neuroscience Nursing and American Nurses Credentialing Center. She is a member of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, and American Association of Neuroscience Nurses.

Michelle Lancaster, PA-C

Michelle Lancaster, PA CMichelle received an associate’s degree in science from Riverside Community College in 2010. She is board-certified as a Physician Assistant by the American Academy of Physician Assistants. She has co-authored a book chapter on neurologic workup in the Urgent Care setting and has spoken at national conferences about various spine-related topics. She is a member of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons and the California Association of Physician Assistants.

Michelle enjoys spending time with her 2 children.

Arianna Arroyo, PA-C

Arianna Arroyo, PA CArianna (Ari) received a Bachelor of Science in Human Biology from UCSD in 2017 and a Master of Science, Physician Assistant Studies from California Baptist University in 2021. She is board certified as a Physician Assistant by the American Academy of Physician Assistants. In addition to her neurotrauma and trauma surgery experience as a Physician Assistant, she brings experience as a licensed EMT and years working in the ED setting as a scribe. She is a member of the both the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the California Academy of Physician Assistants.

She is an avid golfer, having played since high school as well as a Golden Retriever enthusiast.
